Welcome to Hope Haven!

It's almost 2024!!

What a season it has been!  Thank you!

We are so appreciative of everyone's love & support!

We had such a fun and vibrant time with you this past season that we are now making many plans for an incredible 2024. We're calling it our year of Jubilee and hope you all will come celebrate our animals and embrace the joy of a compassionate farm. The Sanctuary is currently closed for tours and events for the winter months but will be reopening our barn doors in May of the new year.

It's Time for #Giving Tuesday! Next week -11/28/23!

This special international day of giving serves as a cornerstone for our annual fundraising initiatives, and this year our target is to raise $10,000 from the event!

To achieve this huge goal we need YOUR help!!

Please visit our Give Big Pittsburgh page to help our animals or DONATE above. Thank you!

Interested in volunteering?

We are revamping our volunteer program now that we finally have an amazing volunteer coordinator!!!

We are asking all interested individuals to be able to commit two shifts a month at the farm. Volunteer shifts are generally weekdays in the later afternoons. Since the folks running the Sanctuary also have full-time jobs we can only offer volunteer hours when they are available. The minimum age requirement to volunteer on-site at the farm is 18 years old.

We understand it is difficult to make long term commitments to volunteering. If you only have a day or two to help out we would love for you to attend a monthly "open" volunteer days! On these days you can come lend a hand for a few hours with no further commitment. These open days will be advertised on our Facebook and Instagram pages so please follow us there!

We offer limited volunteer opportunities during the winter months but if you are interested please complete the application and we will contact you. We have a new volunteer application on our volunteer page. Check it out!

Much love and hugs,

Karen and the Haven animals

Hope Haven is a 501(c)3 non-profit farm animal sanctuary nestled in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, PA. Our mission is to rescue neglected pigs, goats, sheep, llama, donkey, alpaca, emu, and all farm birds. These animals have been surrendered at local animal shelters, confiscated by local humane agents and police, or saved from factory farms. They now live out their lives with comfortable housing, nutritious food, and companionship from others of their own kind. They also receive endless love and affection from the human components of the sanctuary!

Hope Haven is also a resource to raise public awareness about the plight of animals raised for human use. Here at the farm we promote a cruelty-free, plant-based lifestyle. Rather than focusing on the horrors and cruelty inherent in factory farming we want to showcase the individuality and personality of farm animals. Our hope is that when people realize these animals are sentient beings deserving of compassion they will make up their own minds to respect life and adopt a cruelty-free lifestyle.
